Bears in White

Hey! I thought I'd check with this, b/c I'm doing a science proj. about ........

Polar Bears

Yes, they are pretty exciting. Well, if you're like me they are. If you are someone else, you might think,"Who is this crazy animal activist person?" I'm Bubbles, nice to meecha.
Anyway, polar bears is todays topic.
Polar bears live in the Arctic region. Just right there. There are only 20,000 to 25,000 left in this world.
Save them.
Polar bears could be extinct by 2050. That's only 39 years people. And guys who are in my science class, understand what this means. When you are 50 or 51, sitting down and having a nice cup of herbal tea, you read the newspaper headline. "Last Polar Bear Passes Away" Wouldn't that be nice?
Polar bears reproduce at a faster rate than us. They are pregnant for about 8 months, then have 1-4 babies. They look so cute!!!
There are so many reasons why we should save these guys. We are educating people to minimize conflicts with bears. Many people, if in contact with bears, will use lethal means to eradicate them from the area.

We poach these poor bears, and global warming has led to the loss of their habitat. They can't catch food, and many will die off. The only safe bears are in the zoos, in a cage, with people looking at them all day long. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Here's some more pics:

Bears!!!!!

BEAR Quintuplets....once in a lifetime Photo
Black bears typically have two cubs; rarely, one or three. In 2007, in
northern New Hampshire , a black bear sow gave birth to five healthy
young.  There were two or three reports of sows with as many as four
cubs, but five was, and is, very extraordinary.  The photographer
learned of them shortly after they emerged from their den and set
a goal of photographing all five cubs with their mom - no matter how
much time and effort was involved.  He knew the trail they followed
on a fairly regular basis, usually shortly before dark.  After spending
nearly four hours a day, seven days a week, for more than six weeks,
he had that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and photographed them.
He used the equivalent of a very fast film speed on his digital camera.
The print is properly focused and well exposed, with all six bears posing
as if they were in a studio for a family portrait.

The photographer stayed in touch with other people who saw the bears
during the summer and into the fall hunting season.  All six bears continued to thrive.  As time for hibernation approached, he found still more folks who had seen them, and everything remained OK.  The photographer stayed  away from the bears because he was concerned that they might become habituated to him, or to people in general, and treat them as approachable  friends.  This could easily become dangerous for both man and animal.
After Halloween, no further reports and could only hope the bears survived until they hibernated.  This spring, just before the snow disappeared, all six bears came out of their den and wandered all over the same familiar territory they trekked in the spring of 2007.
The photographer saw them before mid-April and dreamed nightly of
taking another family portrait, a highly improbable second once-in-a-lifetime photograph.
On 25 April 2008, he achieved his dream.
When something as magical as this happens between man and animal, Native Americans say, "We have walked together in the shadow of a rainbow."

That was not me, but the photographer that wrote that put some amazing dedication into those pictures. Give him a hand people!!! Be back later!?!?!?!?!

The Bright Eye

Tigers are one of my favorite animals, and not because they are vicious. They only act that way when they are hunting. When just lounging around, tigers are very gentle. (As long as you don't startle them!) Their cubs are also pretty cute, and they play just like little kids..... that bite each others ears for fun. No one gets hurt, though. Mostly just annoyed. You can also see tigers at the zoo, if you don't want to get too close. Because they are either fed live food for them to catch, or dead food (yuck!), the chances that you see them hunting are pretty slim.

Tigers are also part of the cat family, so they have pointy ears and fur. The tiger's only enemy is us: humans. Just keep away, and you'll be fine!!

Girls Go Green!!

Hi people. I know I haven't blogged in a while, and I wanted to get it started again.

What everyone thinks is,"It's a big world. I can't do anything to help." What they don't know is this: When everyone thinks that, nothing gets done. So if you inspire some of your classmates or friends to get a recycling bin, that's at least 20 less pounds in the garbage, and it helps!

So what you need to do is just that! Or maybe recycling isn't your thing, but you have a great green thumb. So grow a garden. Plants take CO2 out of the air and replenish it with oxygen. I have an oak tree in my backyard, and there is also a stray cat around my house. That cat has planted at least 20 acorns and I now have a thriving tree farm.

I have to go, but keep helping the earth!
Peace Out!

Bark it out!

No. Not dogs. Seals. Yep. They're fun loving animals and your probably only going to see them at the zoo. Where you are told facts like: they eat fish at the zoo    they have blubber, aka fat. And in their case it's good. Yesssss, you just saw me write that fat can be good!!! Accept it! Seals are also related to manatees, which are really big animals. Check them out at a zoo's website, or pics of them online.

Traveling

I would go to Austalia, because that is where so many amazing animals live. I want to be able to see them in their natural life. Koalas are awesome animals. They only eat one thing, and they never drink! They get both food and water out of eucalyptus leaves. Eucalyptus is poisonous to humans, but koalas have a complex digestive system which allows them to eat the leaves. Koalas always stay in trees, because that is where their nourishment is and there are predators on the ground. The koalas' predators are dingos, owls, lizards, and people. Why us? We cut their home trees down. We also (sadder, but accidently) run them over by cars. Koalas also die because instead of jumping from tree to tree, they walk on the ground, and then other animals get them. Koalas are innocent animals, and they are soooooooo cute!!!!!

More About Me

Yeah, this has nothing to do with turtles. Just more of my life. So here's some facts...
  • I have a kitty :-P named Ivory (Ivy)
  • I have a brother.... ugh
  • I had goldfish for a short period of time..NO, my cat did NOT eat them. they died
  • I play a ton of sports

Aww...

Turtles need help!!!

I think that turtles are the most amazing creatures that live in the sea. They always need help. When they hatch, they try to find the ocean, where the moon will be shining on the water. Buildings and resorts will sometimes have their lights on at night. The baby turtles will DIE when they crawl to the lights. :-( Also, when the moon shines off  pieces of trash, the turtles will mistake it for seaweed, and eat it. That is a reason to pick up trash at the beach instead of leaving it there.

There is also a switch in turtles. When they hit the water, the switch turns on, and they swim and swim, only stopping to eat. They keep swimming until they touch the shore of a certain beach. (It depends on the turtle) If a wave takes them back to the shore where they were born, the switch turns off. They no longer know where they are going, or how to swim there. This is when we come in. We know where they are going, and when the turtles are stranded, we should pick them up. Then we need to take them there so they can live. After all, only a few turtles from each batch of 100 survive. :-(  We need to help save turtles, even if it's just picking up trash. Tell me if you agree!!!
Sooo Cute! Save them!!

Se ya'll,

This is soooo cruel!!! To even think about
posting it as a funny cat pic!!!! :-(   *tear*
Awesomness!!!!!!
